Ludlow Junior School

Vision & Values

School Vision, values, culture and ethos

Our vision is to provide a wholly inclusive community academy which is inspiring, challenging and supportive for everyone it serves.

Ludlow became a single academy trust in 2012 and proudly branded itself as ‘Our Community Academy’ – this has continued to be at the core of our identity ever since.

Our school is founded on and centred around a culture of mutual respect, kindness, warmth and tolerance. We expect every member of our community to embrace our inclusive culture and to be kind, thoughtful and polite towards each other.

We believe that Ludlow is a place for growth, development, learning, nurture and that we provide a safe space in our community where everyone can thrive and aspire to be their very best.

Our core values focus on:

  • Patience, Friendship, Respect, Determination, Pride and Honesty

We believe that these values, aligned with a strong and dynamic curriculum equip our pupil and their families for a positive and exciting life in modern Britain.

Previous pupils and their families often visit us and tell us that a true love of learning, sense of purpose and belief in themselves really flourished at Ludlow Junior School and we continue to see their successes as a validation of our work as a school and their combination of talents, drive, desire and commitment.

Visitors to our school always comment on the warm welcome they receive around the school and the confidence with which pupils talk to them. We firmly believe that our pupils grow the most when they have a real sense of purpose and authority. Our pupils take the lead in everything from refereeing football at break times or running our Champ Squares (Sports Leaders), helping keep our site well organised (site squad), assisting during lunch service (catering crew) and taking on responsibilities for others – our prefects and head boy/girl team.

At Ludlow we know that we succeed together and our culture and ethos shines through when you visit our school and talk to staff, pupils and parents. We are proud to serve our local community and know that, from prior experience our pupils have the talents to go on to be premier league footballers, highly talented performers in a wide range of sports, university graduates in a range of subjects, skilled in trades and services or committed to exploring opportunities in wider education, service provision, IT, the arts and beyond.

We pride ourselves on supporting our community to overcome barriers, raise aspirations, be ever open to new opportunities and to be thoughtful of how they can help others on their journey too.
