Sports Leaders

Sports Leaders take an active role in the sporting activities at break and lunchtime. Sports Leaders are selected by staff.

Once selected the sports leaders receive training and are given their own whistle.  Whilst on duty they wear an orange bib featuring the sports leader logo so that they are easily identified when refereeing games and activities. 

Duties include:

• Refereeing football
• Refereeing Champ
• Supervising basketball
• Awarding fair play certificates in assembly 

The  Sports Leaders  attend  regular meetings with the Learning Mentor Team to talk through any issues, make changes and evaluate their role.

The Sports Leader role helps to develop confidence, responsibility, reliability, teamwork and leadership skills.
